パカントは、ミャンマー（ビルマ）中北部のジェダイト鉱山地区（または中央ジェード トラクト）の中心です。 主要なジェダイト鉱山は、カチン州内の緯度 25 度と 26 度の間のウル (ウユ) 川とチンドウィン川によって東西が大まかに囲まれています。

Hpakant is the center of the jadeite mining district (or central Jade Tract) in north-central Myanmar(Burma). The major jadeite mines are roughly enclosed east and west by the Uru (Uyu) and Chindwin rivers, between the 25th and 26th parallels of latitude, within Kachin State.
